About Aira Force
Aira Force is a waterfall in a wooded ravine above Ullswater, cared for by the National Trust. Aira Beck drops roughly twenty metres here before continuing towards the lake, with paths and bridges offering different views of the falling water. The wider grounds are part of a designed woodland landscape, making a visit as much about the trees and the walk as the main cascade. Longer routes continue towards Gowbarrow Fell and views across Ullswater, while shorter options stay around the ravine. Choose a walk that suits your plans: the waterfall paths involve slopes and steps, and the fell is a more substantial outing. Come for woodland, moving water and the chance to combine a waterfall visit with Lake District scenery.
