About A Visit to the Hangman — Great Hangman
This is a true peak route with a defined start and circuit, not merely a summit marker. Distance: 5.3 miles (8.5 km). Difficulty/terrain: Challenging; long sustained climb and exposed coastal terrain. Elevation/ascent: Great Hangman summit about 318 m / 1,044 ft; route includes roughly 200 m / 650 ft of sustained climbing to the high ground. Coastal weather and cliff exposure can make the route substantially harder than its mileage suggests. Start and finish at Kiln Car Park, Combe Martin, EX34 0DH. Use Kiln Car Park and follow current local parking tariffs/signage. The public walking route is free; local parking charges may apply. Cliff edges and high winds require care. Carry water and appropriate layers.
