A serious Exmoor day walk mixing East Lyn river woodland with high coastal and valley views. Distance: 9.1 miles (14.7 km). Difficulty/terrain: Challenging; substantial ascent/descent with steep and exposed sections. Riverside rocks and steep paths can be slippery after rain. Start at Lynmouth seafront car park, EX35 6EN. Use signed Lynmouth parking and check current local charges. The route is free; local parking may charge. Steep/exposed sections need appropriate footwear. Allow for wet ground.
