About Dartmoor Way Stage 2 — Shipley Bridge to Ashburton

A lanes-and-fields walk through Buckfastleigh and the Buckfast Abbey landscape to the historic town of Ashburton. Distance: 10.5 miles (16.8 km). Terrain/difficulty: Long-distance stage; terrain varies between lanes, fields, tracks and moorland. No single difficulty grade is imposed by the overview. The Dartmoor Way includes unwaymarked/open-moor sections; carry map/compass or equivalent navigation and use poor-weather alternatives where the official route provides them. Start at Shipley Bridge car park. Use signed Shipley Bridge parking arrangements and arrange return from Ashburton.
