About Two Moors Way — Hameldown to Chagford

High Dartmoor walking past Grimspound and Hurston Ridge towards Chagford. Distance: approximately 9.5 miles; add about 1.5 miles from Widecombe. Terrain/difficulty: Long-distance walking section; difficulty varies with terrain and weather. Waymarking is limited on remote moorland sections; the route organisation recommends carrying and being able to use a map and compass. Start on the Hameldown section using the official route map; Widecombe is an optional access/overnight detour. Arrange stage transport rather than assuming roadside parking is available at the ridge start. Check current access, parking and any transport or managed-site charges before travelling.
