About Slapton Ley Circular
A wildlife-rich Slapton Ley circuit with lake, shingle coast and major D-Day history. Distance: 4.2 miles (6.8 km). Difficulty/terrain: Moderate; generally undemanding with a short roadside section. A February 2026 storm-damage closure/diversion currently affects the Coast Path at Slapton Sands; follow the signed diversion. The A379 Slapton Line has also been affected by 2026 storm damage; check road access before driving to the start. Start and finish in Torcross, TQ7 2TQ; the route guide identifies Torcross village parking. Use signed Torcross parking and observe current traffic/road-closure arrangements. Check current access, parking and any transport or managed-site charges before travelling. Follow the current signed diversion at Slapton Sands. Take care on the short roadside section.
