About Sidmouth: Coast & River

At over ten miles it gives East Devon a genuine full circuit with coast, estuary, river and ridge rather than just a Sidmouth promenade entry. Distance: 10.1 miles (16.3 km). Difficulty/terrain: Moderate; generally easy going with one steep descent and one steep ascent. A short signed diversion remains at Peak Hill following the October 2024 landslip; follow the current diversion. Cliff erosion is active on this coast. Start and finish at Mutters Moor Car Park, Peak Hill, Sidmouth, EX10 0NW. Use Mutters Moor car park and check current parking signs; the route also passes Ladram Bay/Otterton facilities. The route is free; parking terms may change. Follow the Peak Hill diversion. One steep descent and climb.
